Pet Sitting FAQs
Why should I hire a professional pet sitter?
Pet sitters are professionals who care about animals and provide clients with the security that their pets are in good hands. Pet sitters are able to provide animals the comfort of staying in their own home and can allow animals to stick to their normal feeding and activity schedules. Finally, sitting your animals in the home eliminates the chance for your pet to catch kennel-borne illnesses.
What sets KPS apart from other pet sitting services?
We are long-time animal lovers and are insured, bonded, and trained in pet CPR and first aid. Most importantly, we will take the time to get to know you and your pets on a personal level. This will allow us to work with you to create an individualized approach to caring, exercising, and training reinforcement.
Are you insured?
Yes, Kenosha Pet Sitter is fully insured and bonded.
What animals do you take care of?
We take care of most domestic pets, including all dog breeds, cats, fish, lizards, snakes, birds, and rodents. If you have another animal that you need care for, please call us.
Can you provide extended exercise for my high-energy dog?
Yes, we firmly believe that exercise is critical to allowing a dog to be balanced and comfortable. We will exercise at their level, whether it is a short, slow walk, or an intense roller-blade session. We will tailor an exercise program with you to fulfill your dog’s exercise needs.
My dog has displayed aggression in the past. Will you still pet sit my dog?
Aggressive behavior does not necessarily mean that we will not provide services. At the initial consultation, we can work with you to determine whether we are a good fit for your pet’s behavioral issues. If your pet’s aggression concerns are beyond our expertise, we can work with you to find a trainer or veterinary behaviorist who may be able to provide more assistance.
Will my dog be walked alone, or with other dogs?
We walks dogs individually or in groups from the same household.
I have an emergency and I need someone to watch my pets. Can Kenosha Pet Sitter help?
We realize that life can throw you unexpected events. We will do our best to help out on short notice and in emergency situations.
What areas do you service?
We service Kenosha, Pleasant Prairie, and Somers, WI.
What type of training and discipline do you use?
We focus on using a positive, rewards-based approach combined with sufficient exercise when we work with pets. We do not feel that there is one cut-and-dried approach to training and that training should be tailored for each pet. We will work with you to find the method of training that works the best for your pet.
